After church we headed over to June's to pick up our dog, Riley. She was very excited to see us after four days, so I don't think she got the full flavor of having some competition around for our attention. She's a sweet dog though, and took a big lick of baby after leaping around for a few minutes. June got to hold Luke while we greeted our dog.
Riley has been great since then. I think she finally has come to realize there's a new addition, and she's very curious. She walks up and sniffs and licks his feet to figure out what this thing is that's moved into her house. We're trying to keep up a good level of attention to her when one of us isn't attending to Luke so she won't act out. It is fun trying to keep all the dog hair off of the baby, especially since Riley is shedding so much as summer approaches- our house is covered in hair. But I don't think that'll kill him. We took Riley on some test runs with infants and toddlers while Mindy was pregnant and some people at church had their kids around. She did great, so we're not worried about it. She's an awesome dog, and isn't aggressive at all. She was very interested when we gave Luke a bath today. I'll have to make sure to add some of those pictures when I post on bath time.
